Ask after the bill is settled, not during the meal. Put an NFC + QR review stand at the billing counter or exit and a review card in the bill folder, so the diner taps once and Google’s review box opens. Ask every table the same way, and never offer a discount or free dessert for a review.
Why do Google reviews matter when Zomato and Swiggy already have ratings?
Delivery-app ratings live inside the delivery app. When someone nearby searches “restaurant near me”, “biryani in Indiranagar” or “family restaurant open now”, Google Maps decides what they see, and it shows Google stars and Google reviews. A restaurant that is busy every evening can still look empty on Maps if the happy diners never leave a review there.
Reviews also do selling for you. A new diner reading “the mutton biryani was worth the wait” or “staff were patient with our kids” learns more than any menu photo can tell them. Those reviews only exist if regular diners are asked, at the right moment, in a way that takes seconds.
When should you ask a diner for a Google review?
Never in the middle of the meal. Wait until the experience is complete and the diner is relaxed:
- When the bill is settled. The meal is over, the payment went through and the diner is reaching for their phone anyway to pay by UPI. This is the strongest moment.
- When a table praises the food. If a guest tells the captain “the food was really good”, the natural reply is “Thank you! It would mean a lot if you wrote that on Google.”
- At the takeaway counter. People waiting for a parcel have two or three idle minutes and their phone in hand.
If a table has a complaint, deal with it first, then ask them the same way you ask everyone. Google does not allow asking only the happy tables.
Where should the review stand go in a restaurant?
- Cash or billing counter. Every diner who pays at the counter passes it. Place the stand next to the UPI QR so the phone is already out.
- Host or exit desk. In restaurants where the bill comes to the table, the exit is where people pause to say thank you.
- Inside the bill folder. A Google Review Card clipped into the bill folder reaches every table without a stand on each one.
- Pickup counter in quick-service outlets and food courts, where people wait for their token to be called.
You do not need a review stand on every table. At ₹1,999 each that adds up quickly, and a stand on the table during the meal asks at the wrong moment. Tables are a better place for a Menu Standee, which opens your online menu.
What should the cashier or captain say?
Captains and cashiers need one line they can say naturally. Pick the language your guests speak.
English
“Thank you for coming in. If you enjoyed the food, a Google review really helps a small restaurant like ours. Just tap your phone here.”
Hindi
“आने के लिए धन्यवाद। अगर खाना पसंद आया हो, तो Google पर एक review ज़रूर दीजिए। बस अपना फ़ोन यहाँ टच कीजिए।”
Hinglish
“Sir, khana kaisa laga? Achha laga ho toh ek Google review de dijiye, bas phone yahan tap kijiye.”
Can a restaurant offer a free dessert or discount for a review?
No. These are the three rules restaurants break most often, and all three can get reviews deleted or the whole Google profile restricted.
- No free dessert, discount or drink for a review. Any reward for a review is against Google’s policy, even if the review is honest. Reviews can be removed and the profile restricted.
- No filtering. A feedback form for private suggestions is fine, but do not use it as a gate that sends happy diners to Google and unhappy ones to a form.
- No reviews from staff, owners or their families. They are treated as fake.
Which POP TAP product should a restaurant buy?
Google Review Standee, ₹1,999 for the billing counter or exit desk. Google Review Card, ₹999 for bill folders or for captains to hold out. Menu Standee, ₹1,999 for tables, if you want guests to open your online menu with a tap. Each one has an NFC chip and a printed QR, so phones that cannot tap simply scan.
How much does a Google review stand cost for a restaurant?
Two products do this job at POP TAP, and the price includes the NFC chip programmed with your Google review link, the printed QR, your artwork and a proof you approve before anything is made.
| Product | Price | What it is | Where it goes in a restaurant |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Review Standee | ₹1,999 | Acrylic counter stand, NFC tap and printed QR | Billing counter, exit desk or takeaway pickup counter |
| Google Review Card | ₹999 | Credit-card-size PVC card, NFC tap and printed QR | Clipped into the bill folder, or in a captain’s pocket |
These are one-time prices with nothing monthly. Shipping is free on orders of ₹999 and above and ₹99 below that, India only, and delivery is estimated at 2–5 working days after you approve the artwork proof. Prices on this page are POP TAP’s own prices, correct on 20 October 2026.
Google review stand ka price kitna hai?
Is a ₹1,999 stand worth it, or is a printed QR enough?
Be honest with yourself about your counter before you spend anything. All of these open the same Google review link; what changes is how the customer reaches it and how it looks.
| Option | Roughly what it costs | What you get | What you give up |
|---|---|---|---|
| QR printed and laminated at a local print shop | Under ₹100 | Works on any camera phone; replace it whenever you like | No tap; paper fades and curls; looks like a notice |
| Basic QR stand from a marketplace | ₹300–₹500 (checked October 2026; sellers change prices often) | A stand that holds the QR upright | Usually QR only, generic artwork, no proof before print |
| POP TAP Google Review Card | ₹999 | NFC tap and QR, your artwork, pocket-size | Someone has to hold it out; it is not visible on its own |
| POP TAP Google Review Standee | ₹1,999 | NFC tap and QR, your artwork, stands facing the customer all day | Costs the most; stays at one counter |
Bottom line: if money is tight, print a QR today and start asking. Buy the standee when you want the ask visible on the counter even on the days your staff forget, and when a curling paper QR would look wrong in your restaurant. Either way, NFC does not bring reviews on its own. It removes the search-and-scroll steps, so more of the customers you actually ask finish the review. The asking is still the part that works, and that is free. We lay all three options out side by side in card vs standee vs QR sticker.
Should you reply to restaurant reviews?
Yes, to all of them. Thank the guest, mention the dish they liked, and for a bad review apologise and invite them to call the manager. New diners read the replies as closely as the reviews. For the full method, read how to get more Google reviews.
