Sign in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile, search your business name on Google, and look for the “Ask for reviews” button in the business panel. Copy the short link it shows. That link opens the star-rating box for your shop directly and is what you print on a QR code or program into an NFC stand.
What is a Google review link?
It is a short web address that opens the “Rate and review” box for your business on Google, skipping the search and the scrolling. It usually looks like g.page/r/XXXX/review. Anyone who opens it on a phone, signed in to any Google account, can rate your business and write a review in a few seconds.
You need a verified Google Business Profile (the free listing that shows your shop on Google Maps and Search) and access to the Google account that manages it. If someone else set up your profile, ask them for access first.
How do you find it on an Android phone?
- Open the Google app or Chrome and make sure you are signed in with the account that manages your business.
- Search your exact business name. Because you are the owner, Google shows a small dashboard above the results with buttons such as “Edit profile”, “Read reviews” and “Ask for reviews”.
- Tap Ask for reviews. A box opens with your review link and share buttons.
- Tap Copy (or share it to yourself on WhatsApp so it is saved).
You can also do this inside the Google Maps app: tap your profile picture, open Your Business Profile, and look for “Get more reviews” or “Ask for reviews”. Google changes button names from time to time, so look for anything with the word “reviews”.
How do you find it on an iPhone?
- Open Safari or the Google app and sign in with the managing Google account.
- Search your business name on google.com. The same owner dashboard appears above the results.
- Tap Ask for reviews, then Copy link.
If the dashboard does not appear, you are probably signed in to a different Google account. Tap your profile picture at the top of the Google page and switch accounts.
How do you find it on a desktop or laptop?
- Go to business.google.com and sign in, or simply search your business name on google.com while signed in.
- In the dashboard, open Ask for reviews (on the Home screen it is sometimes shown as a “Get more reviews” card).
- Click Copy. Paste the link into a note or email so you have it saved.
Is there another way if the button is missing?
Yes. Google gives every place a Place ID, and you can build a review link from it:
- Search the web for “Google Place ID Finder” and open the tool on Google’s developer site.
- Type your business name, pick it from the dropdown and copy the Place ID (a long string starting with “ChIJ”).
- Put it into this address:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID
This link does the same job as the short one and works even if your profile dashboard is not showing the button.
How do you check that the link works?
Open the link on a different phone, or in a private browsing window. It should open the rating stars for your shop with your shop name clearly visible. If it opens a different business with a similar name, you copied the wrong profile. If it opens a general Google Maps page, the link is incomplete.
Test once a month. Links rarely change, but if your profile is merged, re-verified or moved, the Place ID can change and the old link stops working.
What do you do with the link once you have it?
- Paste it into WhatsApp messages after a sale or delivery.
- Turn it into a QR code with any free generator and print it near the counter.
- Send it to POP TAP when you order a Google Review Standee or Google Review Card. We program the NFC chip and print the QR with that exact link, and show you a proof before printing.
Then read How to get more Google reviews for your shop for what to say at the counter and the rules Google expects you to follow.
